My inspiration

So what motivated me to build a career giving admin support to sole traders and small firms?
It goes back to my childhood; my lovely Dad was a self-employed driving instructor, absolutely brilliant at his job but lacking the time, skills and support to get on top of his paperwork. Caused him many a problem over the years, I can tell you :-(

This was back in the day, long before small businesses had the kind of support and guidance we can get now from sources such as Business Link, and obviously well before the technological progress which has opened the way for the role of virtual assistants like me. There's a lot more support out there now, but I know many business people still feel the pressure of trying to do what they do best and keep on top of the necessary admin. That's why I believe there's a big, and ever-increasing role to be played by VAs who can give the vital office support entrepreneurs need just when they need it.

Thanks for the inspiration Dad xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Virtual reality!!

Well, the business has been officially up and running for just over a month now.Work is coming in steadily, which is great.
It's quite something to see the vision finally turning into reality, it's been a while since I first thought about becoming a virtual assistant. Before now, though, there's always been something else needing my attention first (usually my gorgeous little boys!). Now they're getting older, it feels like the right time to take on the new challenge - I'm sure many other mums will know that feeling!
It has to be said that I might still have been at the planning stage if it hadn't been for the advice and support I received from the wonderfully enthusiastic Geoff Reeves at http://www.bvg.org.uk/fylde/ . Sometimes a little push makes all the difference!
